Remembrance Day Parade in Church Square

Remembrance Day Parade in Church Square, Lesmahagow

  • Remembrance Day Services on Sunday November 12:
    At Coalburn, there was a service of remembrance in the church led by Mr Alan Grant at noon. A short service of remembrance at the war memorial in the Miners' Welfare Building took place at 1.15 pm. In Lesmahagow, there was a community-led wreath-laying ceremony at the war memorial in the cemetery in Strathaven Road at 9.30 am. From there, the uniformed organisations paraded to the Old Parish Church, following which there was a service in the church led by Mr Alan Grant.
  • Mr Alan Grant is interim moderator of the combined Parish of Coalburn and Lesmahagow Old. More details of this significant change in organisation will be available soon.
  • A Service of Union for Lesmahagow Old Parish Church and Coalburn Parish Church was held on Thursday, September 28 which was attended by the Presbytery of Lanark.
